The Army’s top General, George Casey, appeared on ABC’s This Week and said he cannot rule out terrorism in the Fort Hood massacre perpetrated by Muslim soldier Nidal Malik Hasan. He may as well have said after Hurricane Katrina that he cannot rule out foul weather as the cause of the destruction of the Gulf Coast. The politically correct Casey stated, “Speculation could potentially heighten backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers and what happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here. It’s not just about Muslims, we have a very diverse army, we have very diverse society and that gives us all strength. But again we need to be very careful about that.”

Amazingly, the commander of the United States Army is more worried about cultural “diversity” than the safety of the American troops he is supposed to be commanding. If Americans cannot trust the federal government to protect their troops on U.S. soil, something is terribly wrong. The young men and women who enlist in the Armed Forces of the United States do so to protect and defend liberty and the U.S. Constitution—not cultural diversity.

AtlasShrugs.com’s Pamela Geller pointedly asked, “Would Patton have recruited Nazis into his army? …Every time there is an Islamic attack on America, Islam advances. America recedes. Americans are murdered, shot in the back, and CAIR gets a platform on FOX, MPAC gets a shout out on O’Reilly, and we bend a little bit more to Islam while Muslims admonish Americans for a potential backlash. They are setting the stage for rivers of blood. This is so terrible. The more you appease, the more horrific the end result will be. If Hitler had been stopped at Czechoslovakia, think of all the incomprehensible bloodshed and loss of life that would have been spared. The more you give into evil, the greater the consequences. Evil has no depth, no bottom…”

Meanwhile, Obama’s hapless Homeland Security lackey, Janet Napolitano, “is working to prevent a possible wave of anti-Muslim sentiment after the shootings at Fort Hood in Texas.” Thirteen Americans lie dead and 29 are wounded and Obama and Napolitano are more worried about anti-Muslim backlash than preventing radical Islamists from boosting the death toll even higher. The United States now has a “zero tolerance” for elementary school students carrying Boy Scout knives, but will ignore radical Islamists spouting anti-American hatred for fear of offending allegedly “moderate” Muslims who refuse to police their own communities.

This lunacy has got to end...
