Congressman Kirk:
I understand that the Rules
of the House of Representatives, One Hundred Eleventh Congress, Rule XIII, Calendars and Committee Reports, Content of Reports,
3.(d)(1), states:
“Each report of a committee on a public bill or public joint resolution shall contain the following:
A statement citing the specific powers granted to Congress in the Constitution to enact the law proposed by the bill or joint
resolution.”
Congress routinely ignores that rule, just as it routinely ignores the Tenth Amendment to the U.S.
Constitution. If you would like my support in your Senate campaign, may I suggest that you first make an attempt to earn it
by working to make sure that House rules are followed.
The hate crimes legislation you supported is unconstitutional
and violates my First Amendment rights. The cap and trade legislation has no basis in scientific fact. "Obamacare" is an abomination
that is also unconstitutional. Probably 90 per cent of everything Congress passes violates the Tenth Amendment. Virtually
all of the 535 Senators and Congressmen routinely thumb their noses at our nation’s sacred document—and at the
American people. You may do it less frequently than others, but far too often to deserve a Senate seat.
You have one
year to change my mind. You can start with the issue I raised above.
